Service Overview

As a mediator and conflict management practitioner, I recognize the discomfort people have around conflict. I approach this work with openness, compassion, curiosity, and collaboration to hold safe and empowering processes.

I only offer coaching and mediation in family related matters.

In my private practice, I do not accept workplace cases.
I will happily make a referral to some of my fantastic colleagues.

Conflict Coaching

Conflict coaching is individual work. Together we discuss challenges in relationships, explore conflict dynamics, and seek opportunities to change approaches and build capacity in conflict resolution skills and communication skills. Think of it as personal empowerment to affect change, and being grounded by recognizing limitations in certain types of relationships.

Conflict Coaching is suitable for anyone who wants to improve how they approach conflict, how they approach challenging relationships, or how they support others through conflict.

Mediation

Mediation is working with both sides in a conflict. This process includes individual conflict coaching with both sides and bringing people together to work through conflict.

This process aims to address conflict by 1) unpacking problematic patterns and themes in the relationship, 2) gaining understanding of each other’s needs and interests, and 3) practicing collaboration to find agreeable outcomes and lasting solutions.

Mediators support both sides to generate ideas and solutions, and to come up with their own agreements.

Training

Conflict management training is designed to empower groups to understand conflict dynamics, and build skills and capacity to manage conflict. Training is customized to group needs.

At this time, training contracts are limited to organizations that work with families or are indirectly impacted by family conflict. This can include daycares, schools, and youth serving organizations.

Note: Training is great for professional development and empowering teams, but it should not be a substitute for intervention.

Client – Mediation

“I felt so heard in such a gentle way. I don’t know if she knows the impact she had on me from our first meeting… In the mediation, Nicole directed the conversation from one of anger to one of understanding… She humanized both of us and this is where everything fell into a more positive light… I’m very grateful to have met her and have her help me through a very difficult time. I can’t thank her enough for what she did for me and my family.”

I think this workshop was super beneficial and would be great for any team that works closely together.

I enjoyed the whole day. Nicole was awesome and provided valuable information.

Conflict isn’t one of my strong suits but attending this workshop has given me new tools to feel so much more confident and comfortable with conflict.
